A Fall Picnic

We have had the MOST gorgeous fall! In October we didn’t think the colors were going to be great, but they have totally blossomed in the last couple weeks and the trees are on fire everywhere. We are slowly getting settled into our new home! We decided to paint most of the house and we refinished the old wood floors on the main level of the house, so we are making progress. I’m hoping to be settled in the house by Thanksgiving, but that might be unrealistic. I am still hopeful!

We have been walking everywhere lately because the weather has been so gorgeous and our new neighborhood is SO walkable. I will never let a day go by where I am not thankful for the house and town that we live in. I’m still pinching myself that this is even real life. It’s the house of my dreams in the neighborhood of my dreams, and I’m truly humbled by God’s blessings. I feel like we are finally HOME, and it feels so, so good. Last week we walked to the park for a picnic and I read our faborite poetry book to the boys. It was a glorious fall day, we made friends with the sweetest 91-year-old lady named Marian and we played football in the park.

Leo is turning one in a few weeks which I can hardly believe. Part of me is so looking forward to being past the first year. He has been a challenging baby and the first year is always the hardest for me. The other part of me is sad that my sweet little baby is going to be a toddler soon. He drives me crazy, and I adore him. I guess that’s motherhood for you!
